متن کاملMagnetic moment and coupling mechanism of iron-doped rutile TiO2 from first principles
The magnetic ground state of Fe-doped rutile TiO2, an oxide-based dilute magnetic semiconductor, has been investigated within the hybrid-exchange approximation to density-functional theory. FexTi1−xO2 with x =0.125 has been simulated by means of a 24-atom supercell with Fe doped substitutionally for Ti and this is established as the dilute limit through explicit comparison with calculations on ...
متن کاملAdsorption of Pt and Bimetallic PtAu Clusters on the Partially Reduced Rutile (110) TiO2 Surface: A First-Principles Study
An extensive study of the adsorption of small Ptn (n = 1−8) and bimetallic Pt2Aum (m = 1−5) clusters on the partially reduced rutile (110) TiO2 surface has been performed via total energy pseudopotential calculations based on density functional theory. Structures, energetics, and electronic properties of adsorbed Ptn and Pt2Aum clusters have been determined. The surface oxygen vacancy site has ...
متن کاملFirst-principles study on transition metal-doped anatase TiO2
The electronic structures, formation energies, and band edge positions of anatase TiO2 doped with transition metals have been analyzed by ab initio band calculations based on the density functional theory with the planewave ultrasoft pseudopotential method. The model structures of transition metal-doped TiO2 were constructed by using the 24-atom 2 × 1 × 1 supercell of anatase TiO2 with one Ti a...
متن کاملStructural stability of Ni–Mo compounds from first-principles calculations
The Ni–Mo alloy system is studied. In contrast to the existing Ni–Mo binary phase diagram that shows three stable compounds, b-Ni4Mo, c-Ni3Mo, and d-NiMo, it is determined that d-NiMo is meta-stable at very low temperatures. It is also discovered that two additional compounds, Ni2Mo and Ni8Mo are stable at 0K. 2004 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
